About DVAC

Founded in November 1971 Duanesburg Volunteer Ambulance Corps, Inc. (DVAC) was the only remaining 100% volunteer ambulance agency in Schenectady County until recently when day time staff have been contracted to strengthen the Corps’ service to the Town of Duanesburg! We are your neighbors, co-workers, family and friends on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Every day ambulances A-930 and A-933 are ready for any emergency in our response area of Duanesburg and parts of Knox and Princetown.

DVAC also provides mutual aid to surrounding communities.  The Corps is enrolled in the Schenectady County Mutual Aid and MCI plans as well as the regional plan for the six counties in the Hudson-Mohawk Regional EMS Council. Our crews also provide stand-by support for various sporting events and larger public gatherings in town; additionally, the volunteers have staffed fire scenes with the six fire departments covering the Town of Duanesburg.

New members are always needed and New York State EMT training is provided to medical members at no charge. You never know when your training from DVAC may save a family member or a friend.
